Funny, that whole "careful what you wish for" concept.

Christo didn't sleep through the night until he was 2 1/2 years old (my fault) and has gotten up around 6 am most other days until just recently (his fault)!

I can't tell you how many times I wished for a kid who would sleep in! Until recently, anyway. We're just hitting the "I don't wanna get up for school" age, I guess.

This morning was wonderful though - when I got out of the shower, ready to rush Christo through the morning ritual (I was running a bit late), he was already up and dressed, and reading a book.

So now I have the official paperwork from Bug's suspension, and I'm absolutely certain that this is not the big deal that I think it is. And yet ... and yet ... aren't I obligated to make it a big deal? What kind of parent am I if I don't make a big deal out of my kid getting suspended? :)

In all reality, he's a damn good kid. He's made it to 5th grade and 10 years old without getting a single pink slip, and he's on the honor roll. Guess I should quit complaining...

Okay, kid teasing me about a girl. NOT FUNNY!! Recess, "You gonna play 4-square or not?" WHACK!!!! Okay, granted, I used violece, but the kid was a JERK, capital, JERK!! He didn't even know me!!

Hmmm... our first in-school suspension today. I say "our" as if I'm in trouble too, which is kind of how I feel. Funny that when our children get into any sort of mischief, we feel responsible.

Apparently someone teased Bug about a girl in his class and he took offense.

So poor Bug has to work in the office all day, and doesn't get recess, lunch with the other kids, etc. We had to cancel his standard "Wednesday with Cole" (which is probably the worst part of his punishment) as well as ground him from games for the week, that sort of thing.
